A few of our recent and memorable projects include:
A specialised Document Management System for the Doncasters/Paralloy
Group (www.doncasters.com). This project had to work to the principle
that the existing disparate systems used by various departments
and users was minimally disrupted, and the departments contributing
documents to the system should be able to add and amend document
types as needed. As a result we created a Document Authoring and
Management System, with interfaces to Word and Excel. The concepts
employed allow any code enabled product to interface to it, allowing
Bookmarks, Named Ranges and Field Names to exchange information
with the base document management database. This project allowed
the commissioning company to provide visualisation on project progress
and an efficient and fast method of document pack production, where
previously document packs had to be constructed from disparate pieces
of information, some of it handwritten and re-typed. We are currently
engaged in a project enhancing this system with shop floor data
capture employing digital pens and digital paper.
An On-Line Menu System and Web Design for an Internet Directory Company
wishing to provide a direct route for trade between an Internet site
and the company listed in their directory, irrespective of that companies
use of technology. This project required us to design interfaces to
FAX, e-mail, direct connect using Broadband, voice and SMS.
A suite of software interfaces and components providing a Lift Engineering
company with:
• Quoting and Ordering software linked to Microsoft Office
packages.
• Document Tracking and Management including Web Reporting
of Customer Site reports, hosted on our own servers one hop from
the INTERNET backbone.
• Fault Report logging and tracking utilising Infomap graphical
Job location software (using our own custom interface) and web delivered
Fault forms using browsers on Palm Computing devices.
Generation scheduling software that formed a large part of the suite
allowing Scottish Power to take part in the New Electricity Trading
Arrangements. Launched by the Government in March 2000, NETA is
designed to allow power trading in a fashion similar to the Stock
Market and is unique in the world. Scottish Power's NETA software
allowed them a 400% return in the first 6 months of the software's
use.
We have also handled a date filtering interface for the Radio Communications
Agency, alterations to the Nursing Board of Scotland's student catchment
and placement software, patent recording software for Nokia and many
other systems requiring innovative and user sensitive design and implementation.
